A-Gon Deal May Be Close

Reports are surfacing tonight in the run up to the Winter Meetings that the Red Sox may be looking for an early first strike by consummating a mega-deal for San Diego first baseman Adrian Gonzalez. Reportedly, San Diego would get back a slew of Sox minor league prospects, which could include a mix of Casey Kelly, Anthony Rizzo, Ryan Kalish, Josh Reddick, and (possibly) Jose Iglesias. Also, if San Diego closer Heath Bell is included, Papelbon could be going West as well.
