Wild West Antiques

shops
Love the antique stores and try not to miss any while visiting the small towns of Arizona.

Brand New Dead Things

shops

I was told about this place on twitter.  It is located on the route from Phoenix to Prescott.  Any place that has new dead things is a place I have to check out.

Southwest Antiques

shops
These antique stores were in the town of Miami.

The Forgotten Shop

shops

Just on the outskirts of Casa Grande and near the dump, sits an empty building that looks like it may have once been a store or some sort of business.  This town is so small that if you blink, you will miss the entire place, and where driving your lawnmower from place to place is normal.  We didn't get any hints from the mess all over the floors of what the building once was, but at least Sharon picked up a story from a pole in the middle of the room.  It was the second abandoned place we found on our day trip.

Picacho Peak

Sharon (Autumnforest, Ghost Hunting Theories) and I took a trip to Florence and Tucson, Arizona.  We hopped on the I-10 after breakfast at Dunkin Donuts and headed towards Tucson and our first stop, Vinnie's house.  Halfway between Phoenix and Tucson is a place known as Picacho Peak State Park.  Near the foot of this unusually shaped mountain, and near the highway, is the gift and souvenir shop.  We had to stop to check out the interesting items inside and for Sharon to get some quirky gifts for give-aways.  After the gift shop, we headed on to Vinnie's...

The "Plaza" consists of one building.

They are frickin' serious about this!

Sharon stole Josh Gates hat and is not giving it back until he takes her on an investigation.

Sharon and her new friend.  Nice body dude!

Hey, what are you reading?  They just ignored little ol' noisy me.

My new friend.  I love those Grizzly Adam type dudes.

Awww, Mamma and her baby!

This ain't no bull, it is us!

Ghosts 'R' Us

shops
Many stores report all kinds of strange happenings, especially toy stores.  In Sunnyvale, California a famous photo shows what appears to be an apparition of a man leaning on a wall.  After many photos taken, only one had this image in it.  Along with the photo, there are many stories of strange things happening such as objects moving on their own as witnessed by employees.

Not to be outdone by the Sunnyvale stories, the Toy's 'R' Us at Metrocenter in Phoenix has many of its own eerie stories to tell.  Mike and both of my kids worked there and told many crazy stories of things that happen to them especially at night.  They would be stocking the store for the next day after store hours, and that is when most of the activity occured.  Last year, Mike did a post on his experience.  Instead of rewriting Mike's story, here is a link for you to read all about it.

The land that this store was built on was a sparsely populated residential district.  I really couldn't find any reason for the activity.  Maybe those playful ghosts just want to spend eternity playing with the toys.
